The BEST Setting Spray: Make Your Makeup LAST ALL DAY!

by Angie <3

Setting Spray, to use or not to use? That was seriously the debate in my mind that was constantly on-going the second that I began to use makeup. Was setting spray something that I needed in my life or was it something that was just a waste of time and money? Over the years, I have been putting setting sprays to the test and I am happy to report on my findings of the best setting spray. To my surprise, setting spray is NOT a gimmick and is a crucial step in my makeup routine on a day to day basis.

What is Setting Spray?

What is Setting Spray?

I’ve found that setting sprays really do work on making my makeup last all day (or at least longer than without it), it really melts all of the products together, and it also works to help your makeup wear off better throughout the day. With time, I’ve found that although setting spray can work miracles for your makeup, it is a makeup step that is super unique person-to-person. What do I mean by that? Let me explain! On the market, there are so many different kinds of setting sprays that it might be easy to get overwhelmed with all of the options. There’s sprays to make your skin radiant, make your skin matte, or even sprays that purely refresh your face.

Setting Spray: My Experience

Personally, I have super oily skin. Although I feel like my skin (maybe not) has been getting better with time, it’s still pretty oily. Thus, what I look for in a setting spray is for it to not only melt my makeup products all together (powders, creams, etc.) but to also make my makeup last without getting all shiny and slipping right off. Seems like a lot, I know! My whole entire makeup game changed when I discovered the NYX Matte Setting Spray, because it literally did everything I wanted it to. I used that spray religiously, bottle after bottle, for years because it was just amazing.

But, the beauty about the makeup industry and being a makeup fanatic is that there is always something new to discover or learn. A few weeks ago when I was doing my grocery shopping, I just couldn’t help myself from quickly walking over to the makeup aisle. I stumbled upon a product that I have been so curious to try for the longest time but just never got around to it. What product was it? It was a setting spray! Like I mentioned, I’ve been devoted to the NYX Matte spray for the longest time and I couldn’t begin to imagine going a day without it. But, I took the plunge on trying something new and let me tell you, it was SO worth it!

The Best Setting Spray Revealed!

And now, what you’ve been waiting for and what you came here for! What was that setting spray that just totally rocked my world? It was the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray! I know I might be a little late to the party because everyone has been raving about this spray for the longest time, however, I was also reluctant about abandoning my tried and true NYX Matte spray. So, it was kind of a big deal for me when the Milani Spray became a part of my daily makeup routine instead.

The Best Setting Spray: Why?

What makes the Milani Make it Last setting spray so magical? It’s literally everything I’ve ever wanted in a setting spray! It does an amazing job of really melting all of my makeup products together. To elaborate on what I mean by “melting” my makeup together. Basically, since I usually do a full makeup routine that includes powders and creams, it can sometimes look like the makeup is just sitting on top of my face, until setting powder comes along and melts all of my makeup into “one”.

Aside from really setting my makeup in place, this spray is amazing because it really does the one thing I really want it do; make my makeup last! And by making last I don’t only mean length of time, I mean it made it last without looking cakey or shiny whatsoever! This spray does a great job of really locking the products in place and also keeping all of my oils at bay for as long as I have my makeup on. It’s truly a magical product.

The Best Setting Spray: One “Spritzy” Problem

Even though this product is basically a dream come true for anyone that’s looking for an affordable and amazing setting spray option, there is one tiny thing that I have to let you guys know that I’m not entirely obsessed with. The spritzer on this bottle is a little bit too harsh and sprays a little too intensely on the face. However, a simple fix for that would be just to hold the bottle a little further from your face before spraying so that you don’t just get a jet stream of product coming at you and risk messing up your makeup. Honestly, when I put the bottle a little further out, that little issue was fixed and I have no other problems with it at all!

If you’re looking for a new affordable and amazing setting spray that will not only really set your makeup in place but also keep it looking flawless for hours, you’re going to LOVE the Milani Make it Last Setting Spray! This spray really does everything I’ve wanted in a setting spray and I’m so glad I took a chance on it. I hope you give it a shot and love it as much as I do!
